We are often asked if we are able to offer the rebate for nannies. Put simply no we cannot offer the rebate known as Child Care Benefit that you have access to through approved child care such as centres and family day care.
What we can offer:
We are able to offer a small non means tested rebate (anyone is eligible to receive it regardless of their income) to all our families.
It is calculated at:
Under school age: $0.69 per child per hour of care
School age: $0.58 per child per hour of care
That may not seem like a lot but it does add up. for your typical 2 days a week that could save you
$529.92 per year for one under school age child.
Visit our online rebate calculator to estimate how much you can save from using one of our nannies.
Nanny Pilot Programme
The Nanny Pilot Programme will allow eligible families to receive CCB for using a nanny. Applications for service providers to be able to be a part of the programme closed 22/10/2015. In the coming weeks the Department of Social Services (DSS) will announce which one or couple of agencies per state will be approved to offer CCB. 10% of the $246 million federal budget for this programme has been allocated to Western Australia.
This is just a trial programme, that’s success will be reviewed by the government, before consideration will be made to implement it indefinitely. The trial commences January 2016 and ends December 2017.
Families will have to apply directly through DSS and meet the eligibility criteria before they are able to get a CCB approved nanny. Approved families will have to go through an approved agency that DSS will refer you to. Please click here for information about family applications.
